Yikes

I got into grad school.

And somehow, it's the one I least expected to get into. I won't make any decisions until I hear from the other three and go visit my top two, but it looks like I will definitely be in school somewhere next semester.

When the official letter came yesterday I felt happy and confused. Happy because I'm stupidly competitive when it comes to academics, but confused because I realized for the first time that the letter required a response.

I've been called passive agressive before, and perhaps it's true. I don't mind rejection as long as someone can know all the facts, look me in the eye, and still say "no." And that's kinda what I was expecting. So when I got this letter about registering for classes, moving into apartments, attending orientation (ugh), it took me by surprise because I had just been focusing on the competition of being accepted. And now that I was, I found myself just holding the letter and thinking, "now what?"

Answer: Uh, I guess you go to grad school, Michelle.

So here are five of my "happy reasons" for going to grad school-
(these are predictable, so don't get too excited. I'll have to think of more creative ones...)

1. Having "free" mornings and afternoons (ie, not working 9 to 5)
2. Living in a new place with new people
3. Possibly getting to student teach my own class of freshmen. (I love freshmen)
4. Getting to wear jeans every day for two more years
5. Getting to wear chuck taylors and flip-flops every day for two more years
